This is me and my friends at La Fête Foraine, a travelling carnival that stays in various cities for a month at a time. It is set up in less than 48 hours but spans at least 300 meters and has rides up to 60 feet tall! I really enjoy amusement park rides, so I cooked up plans for me and my friends to go there 8 or 9 times in the one month that they were in Nantes.
Among my other pictures there are some of my best memories from Nantes. My host family, who were truly a blessing during my study abroad. They went well above and beyond their obligations as my host family in taking care of me and really made me feel integrated into their family, the city of Nantes, and French culture. Nantes had a couple of very lively “Christmas Markets” with food, drinks, and pop-up shops set up during December. The Christmas tree is from the market close to the IES Abroad center in Nantes. There’s also me and my classmates during our final theatre performance for our theatre course, which was an incredible experience because I had never even done theatre before, let alone in a foreign language.
My study abroad as a whole was one of the most fantastic experiences of my life. I encourage anyone and everyone who has the opportunity to study abroad to go for it.
